Library Service Modernisation Review
The Library Service Modernisation Review was launched in 2008 by Andy Burnham.
What’s it all about? World Class library services for the UK. The Review builds on the DCMS Framework for the Future and ‘A Passion for Excellence’, both also launched in 2008 to develop culture and sport.

Objectives of the Review
To deliver:
· A high level vision for public library services in the 21st century;
· A set of recommendations for central Government, its agencies and other partners, to support the delivery of this vision for a modernised local library service.

DCMS provides significant funding for sports provision, improving the quantity and quality of sporting opportunities at every level, from the playground to the podium.
Their aim is to encourage wider participation in sport, helping to create a more active nation through sport and improve performance. Reductions in obesity are also important.
In 2012 London hosts the Olympic Games.
